AI Video Upscaler — Turn Any Clip Into Crisp 1080p

Upload the clip you have. Get back a real 1080p file — not a stretched container, not a blurry guess. animx rebuilds the frame at full resolution, so detail comes back sharp instead of smeared. Need 4K? Generate natively at 4K with Seedance 2.0.

Why a re-render beats a traditional upscale

Most upscalers work on the pixels you already have: they interpolate, guess at the detail that was never captured, and hand back a bigger file that still looks soft. animx re-renders the frame at the resolution you choose. Upload a 480p clip and you get a genuine 1080p file back — 2.25× the pixel count, with the detail rebuilt rather than stretched.

That difference shows up in the result. A traditional upscale magnifies compression artifacts, softness and noise along with everything else, which is why upscaled footage tends to look upscaled. A generative re-render resolves the frame cleanly at the higher resolution, so the output holds up on a modern 1080p or 4K timeline.

And the resolution is real. A 480p source re-rendered at 1080p comes back as a true 1920×1080 file — not an upscaled container wrapped around low-resolution content.

How to upscale a clip

  1. 01

    Upload the clip you have

Phone footage, an old export, a screen recording, a soft 480p render. Your clip is the base, so framing, movement and timing carry over instead of being reinvented.

  2. 02

    Describe what you want

Just want it sharp? Say so: “re-render at 1080p, keep everything else identical”. Want a look change as well — cartoon to photoreal, day to night — put it in the same sentence.

  3. 03

    Pick the output resolution

720p or 1080p on the edit surface (Wan 2.7 Edit, Happy Horse Edit). Want 4K? Generate natively at 4K with Seedance 2.0 — 480p through 4K as a selectable tier, up to 15 seconds.

The full resolution ladder

What each tier gives you, and which model to reach for.

480p, 720p, 1080p and 4K

Seedance 2.0 takes 4K as a selectable output tier — a native 4K render, not a post-process stretch. Veo 3.1, Seedance 2.5 and the edit models top out at 1080p.

Upscale a clip you already have

Wan 2.7 Edit and Happy Horse Edit take an uploaded clip and return it at 720p or 1080p — this is the upscale path, and the one most people want.

Keep the framing, change the detail

Because your clip is the base for the re-render, camera movement, timing and composition carry over. It is the pixels that are regenerated.

Aspect ratio is preserved

Vertical, square and ultrawide sources keep their shape. A 2122×976 clip comes back 2122×976 at 1080p — not letterboxed into 16:9 to fit a template.

Longer footage, in passes

A render runs 4 to 15 seconds of video (Veo 3.1 up to 8), so longer material is rendered in sections and cut together in your editor — same as any shot-by-shot production.

Every model, one subscription

No separate upscaling product to buy and no per-model billing. Re-render the same clip on two models, compare the outputs, keep the better one.

Real outputs, at their real resolution

Every clip below was rendered on animx at the resolution in its caption — read from the generation record, not estimated.

Frequently asked questions

How much sharper will my video actually look?
A 480p clip re-rendered at 1080p comes back at 2.25× the pixel count, with detail rebuilt rather than interpolated. Soft footage resolves cleanly, and compression artifacts and noise do not get magnified along with the image the way they do in a traditional upscale.
How much resolution can I get?
Up to 1080p when upscaling a clip you upload — Wan 2.7 Edit and Happy Horse Edit both offer 720p and 1080p. Up to native 4K when generating: Seedance 2.0 exposes 480p, 720p, 1080p and 4K as selectable output tiers.
How do I get 4K?
Generate at 4K natively with Seedance 2.0 — that is the route to 4K on animx. The shot is created at 4K rather than lifted there from existing footage, which is exactly why it holds detail an upscale cannot invent.
Will the upscale change what is in my clip?
Your clip is the base, so camera movement, timing and composition carry over — the frame itself is regenerated. If you ask for a look change as well (cartoon to photoreal, day to night), it is applied across the whole clip.
How long can the clip be?
A single render produces 4 to 15 seconds of video (Veo 3.1 up to 8), so longer footage is rendered in sections and cut together. Re-rendering an existing clip is the same: work through it in passes.
What does it cost?
1080p output is billed at a higher credit rate than 720p on the edit models, and 4K is the most expensive tier on Seedance 2.0. Everything runs on the same animx plan — there is no separate upscaling subscription to buy.
